The chamber is getting ready to publish it annual Business and Community Resource Guide, which highlights local activities.

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce's mission as the business center of Sherwood is to add value to merchants and community by connecting people, resources, and ideas, being a catalyst for business growth and expansion, and championing a strong community.

To accomplish these goals we offer services, develop programming, advocate for business and plan events to bring the community together. We begin a busy year by publishing the 2021/2022 Business and Community Resource Guide. This publication showcases many of Sherwood's businesses and highlights our community offerings and activities. If your business or nonprofit would like to explore the benefits of membership, be a part of this year's guide, and support the mission of the Sherwood Chamber, please call 503-625-7800.

One of our goals of the guide is to portray Sherwood's true community feel. What helps make this publication successful is using photos from a variety of sources, including Sherwood residents, media, and professional photographers.

If you have a high-resolution photo (300 dpi) in jpg format that you are willing to donate to the guide, email it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

In addition to publishing the directory, we are planning our 2021 events. Our biggest event of the year will be the 30th anniversary of the Les Schwab Tire Centers' Cruisin' Sherwood Classic and Custom Car Show. Though normally in June, we have already rescheduled it for Saturday, Aug. 28, to allow more time for healing from the pandemic.

Proceeds from Cruisin' Sherwood benefit the chamber so we can offer our programs and services all year long. We are beginning to reserve sponsorships now and will be accepting car and vendor registrations starting Monday, March 1. Please contact the chamber on how you can be a part of this year's car show.

One of the new programs we have developed to assist with the growth and expansion of business is the monthly Small Business & Entrepreneur Education Series.

Each session takes place on the third Thursday of each month until June 2021. Thanks to a Community Enhancement Program grant by Metro and our partnership with the city of Sherwood, anyone can participate free of charge.

The March session will be led by Banner Bank and will focus on Financial Fraud and Prevention.
