Jodie Henry-Swanegan explains what the Sherwood Regional Family YMCA has to offer members old and new.

At the Sherwood YMCA, we are proud to offer a wide range of group exercise classes.

All of our classes are taught by certified group exercise instructors who bring passion, experience and the perfect energy to each class. Members have the option to choose from 19 different formats ranging from strength, to dance, to senior classes.

We know how important it is for each of us to remain physically active. The wonderful benefit to group exercise classes is that they don't just offer physical benefits they also offer motivation and accountability, add variety to your workouts, help teach proper form, give you the opportunity to meet new friends and have lots of fun!

Our instructors provide motivation and encouragement no matter where you are on your fitness journey. It could be your very first class, or you're coming back after an injury, having recently had a baby, or maybe you want to try something new.

Attending group exercise classes helps keep us accountable. Instructors and participants check in on each other and often set goals together.

We also understand the importance of building a strong community. A community that supports and motivates each individual to be, and feel, their best. A community that is inclusive and welcoming to all.

Group exercise classes help build strong communities by offering class members support and guidance from both instructors, as well as from other YMCA members.

Whether it's your first class, or you've been attending for years, you can be confident you'll fit right in.

Each week, we bond over reaching fitness goals as well as day-to-day life events. Classes aren't just for working out but also catching up with each other. Many long-term friendships and support systems have begun in group exercise classes.

We offer 34 classes per week and 19 different formats. From mind/body, cardio and strength, to pool and senior classes, we've got you covered.

Our current class offerings are: Pilates, Dance Remix, BODYPUMP, Seniors on Strength, Move-N-Groove(pool), LIFT&HIIT, Cycle, REV+FLOW by REFIT, HIIT, Zumba Gold, Shallow Water Aerobics, Yoga, Stretch and Flow, Body Sculpt, Tabata Turn Up, Deep H20(pool), Tai Chi, BRIT(pool) and Ballet Barre.
