OPINION: What can Sherwood Chamber do better?
The Sherwood Area Chamber of Commerce is here to support business and help build community.
As an organization that is here to support the business community, we are taking a hard look at what this means.
In the past we have been focused on events. Don't get me wrong, events are important, but they are not the end-all.
As we restructure who we are and what we do, it really boils down to three things: Relationships and partnerships, programs and services, and events.
Relationships are critical. Relationships such as business to business; chamber to business; Chamber to the city and other key entities within our community. We are each other's biggest supporters and biggest influences.
When relationships are nurtured and cared for, partnerships grow. Through partnerships, we can do more together. Through partnerships, we can offer more programs and services that will enhance the business climate.
Events draw us together. Let's be honest, Cruisin' Sherwood is our biggest fundraiser. However, the other events we offer bring business leaders together.
We are here to support business and help build community. How are we doing? What might we do better? How can we support you more intentionally?
