If all goes as planned, NW Growlers could soon be in a new home early this summer.
That's when the 5-year-old Sherwood business hopes to have a new structure on the west corner of Olds Place and Tualatin-Sherwood Road built, according to Johnny Morgan, owner of NW Growlers.
"We're hoping for June," said Morgan, who also owns a NW Growlers in Johns Landing. "It will be a full restaurant."
Morgan said that means adding extensively to its current food fare along with hiring a chef to what he says will be a community or family-oriented beer tap house.
Morgan said the brew pub's lease isn't being renewed so they will be gone for a few months.
"The new space is going to be so cool," said Morgan. "There's nothing like it in Portland even."
"The Sherwood store is a 'top 10 beer bar by volume' in Oregon," noted Morgan, whose father used to own a beer distributorship where the Sherwood resident learned about beer.
Meanwhile, the new building will be a steel structure, which will be put up via crane. The new space will be about 5,000 square feet, compared to the current building, which is 3,000 square feet.
"As for the (new) building, I've always liked the farm style and the one I found is a home out of Nebraska that we're using for our inspiration," said Morgan, who pointed out it will be renamed as Trouvaille Brewing, which translates to: "something lovely found by chance."
The last day for the Sherwood NW Growlers, 21025 S.W. Highway 99W, is Saturday, Nov. 4.
