Lake Oswego girls win Class 6A state tennis championship
It definitely wasn't easy and it most definitely was close, but the Lake Oswego girls tennis definitely had "it" on Saturday.
And in this case, "it" meant the Lakers' second straight Class 6A state championship. The Lakers edged past the rest of the field with 20 points while Sunset finished second with 19, Lincoln third with 18.5 and Jesuit fourth at 17.
The 6A state tournament was held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Babette Horenstein Tennis Center (formerly Tualatin Hills) in Beaverton.
In singles play, second-seeded Tigard freshman Lizzy Stevens powered past top-seeded Sunset sophomore Serim Jin 6-1, 6-1 to claim the championship.
