Gardening from seeds can be daunting and frustrating, especially the delicious kind. Growing food at home is easier with small starts already beginning to blossom.

On May 3, the Multnomah County Master Gardeners are hosting their third annual Incredible Edibles plant sale, featuring locally-grown organic veggies, peppers and herbs. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., stop by the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1624 N.E. Hancock St.

The master gardeners have chosen hybrids and traditional strands that specifically thrive in the Pacific Northwest. A variety of marigolds will also be available, which attract benevolent bugs that help pollinate new gardens.

The master gardeners are an OSU-trained extension who serve Washington, Clackamas and Multnomah counties.

Joe Wirtheim of The Victory Garden of Tomorrow, who designs posters, and painter Jessica Soleil of A Little Sun will also be there. Music and “Plant. Grow. Eat.” workshops are available for those who want to learn more about gardening.
