Watershed council holds annual celebration to raise money, awareness about improving the urban waterway

TRIBUNE FILE PHOTO  - Johnson Creek where it passes near the Precision Castparts plant in Southeast Portland. The Johnson Creek Watershed Council hosts its Annual Celebration on Thursday, May 25, at Kaul Auditorium on the Reed College campus.

There will be a social hour and silent auction from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a dinner and formal program.

Portland City Commissioner Nick Fish is the keynote speaker. Daniel Newberry, executive director of the watershed council, will present the year in review and Riffle Awards.

Earlybird tickets may be purchased until May 11 for $55.
