Compiled by volunteers with the Sierra Club, book charts 50 best hikes in Tillamook and Clatsop state forests.

COURTESY OOLIGAN PRESS  -      Sierra Club volunteers in Oregon have updated their 2001 book, "50 Hikes in the Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests."

The new book includes photographs collected by Sierra Club members, up-to-date path descriptions, illustrations, map suggestions, driving directions and a regional history of some of the trails.

COURTESY OOLIGAN PRESS - Gales Creek SummitAnyone who has driven to the coast from the Portland area likely has noticed the growth of trees in the Tillamook and Clatsop state forests, which have been regrowing after being ravaged by a series of fires known as the Tillamook Burn.

The book is published by Ooligan Press, a non-for-profit press based in Portland.
