Learn about the Columbia Slough watershed and help support a new park at this family-friendly event.

COURTESY: CONNIE GIBSON - Youths await a paddle on the Columbia Slough at one of the Columbia Slough Watershed Council's past Explorando events. Living Cully and the Columbia Slough Watershed Council are hosting an event on Saturday, June 30 to encourage Latinx communities to explore Cully Park. ¡Explorando! is a community co-led event, and helps connect Latinx communities with natural areas in their neighborhood.

An environmental advocacy group called Verde and the Let Us Build Cully Park coalition have worked on getting Cully Park up and running for

a decade. This year's ¡Explorando! event is in support of them and their success of making the park a reality. The Columbia River Watershed Council will be having a scavenger hunt, nature & education activities and a plant give-away during the event.

Everyone is welcme to attend the event, which will be held June 30 at Thomas Cully Park, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
