Wetlands & Wellies, the annual fundraiser for The Wetlands Conservancy, comes Oct. 14 to Southeast Portland.

PAMPLIN MEDIA GROUP BY CHRISTOPHER OERTELL - Laura Trunk, a restoration biologist, and Chris Rombaugh, an independent biologist, look through a net to screen for insects and aquatic life that live in Kingfisher Marsh at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve in Hillsboro. The Wetlands Conservancy hosts its annual fundraising dinner and auction, Wetlands & Wellies, on Sunday, Oct. 14.

The party starts at 5:30 p.m. at Coopers Hall, a winery and taproom at 409 S.E. 6th Ave. in Portland.

Tickets cost $100, and guests will sample Oregon wines and spirits, paired with local foods. Auction items include a Southern Oregon rafting trip, brie and wine, a Summer Lake retreat and a Manzanita getaway.

Before the event, there will be field trips to Portland area wetlands starting The Wetlands Conservancy, based in Tualatin, works to preserve precious wetlands and educate the public about their important environmental benefits.
