The Water Bureau is no longer blending in water from the Columbia South Shore Well Field.

On June 19, the Bureau began blending in water from wells in the Columbia South Shore Well Field. Officials say this change back to Bull Run water is due to "lower seasonal demand" and the return of fall rainy weather.

"Bull Run reservoirs have adequate supply to meet Portland's drinking water needs," a spokesperson explained. "Both the Bull Run and Columbia South Shore Well Field are high quality water sources that meet or surpass all federal and state drinking water regulations."

The Portland Water Bureau says both sources of water are "excellent" and create a "resilient" supply.

Depending on location, customers may not receive the Bull Run water for one to eight days.

The Water Bureau says it is not required to inform the media and sensitive users when it activates and discontinues use of groundwater.
