City calls on citizens to be prepared in event of a natural disaster

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO: OREGON TRAIL SCHOOL DISTRICT - Sandy High School. Should a major disaster take place, Sandy High School, 37400 Bell St., has been deemed an appropriate location for an American Red Cross community shelter.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17, Red Cross representatives will provide a five-hour course on the skills required to facilitate a disaster shelter, including how to get people registered, plan and provide meals and organize sleeping arrangements.
