Suburban Auto gains in-house insurance team
At Sandy's Suburban Auto Group, you can buy a car, rent a car and deck out your car with an array of accessories. Now, you can also insure your ride with Allstate right in the dealership.
Patrick Morris, originally of Baton Rouge, La., has worked as an insurance advisor for 23 years, mostly as a representative of Allstate and for a number of years as the head of an independent agency.
Today, Nov. 1, Morris will open up his services to the Sandy community and consumers of Suburban Auto Group with three other staff members.
"I think it was the ownership," Morris said of his decision to partner with the dealership. "The fact that the ownership was willing to go all in on the agency and make it work (was appealing). They were willing to leverage my experience to allow me to build the agency with some sort of autonomy."
Morris said he was approached by multiple dealerships with similar partnership opportunities, but he just "felt more comfortable with these guys."
Not only did the dealership's offer of self-determination attract Morris, but the business' place in the community.
"We'll be getting involved with the things Suburban has been doing," Morris explained. Suburban Auto Group has volunteered with the local Meals on Wheels program, and Morris and his staff plan to join them.
They also plan to be open every day of the week.
"Just drive down to the dealership," Morris explained. "We're here. As long as the dealership is open, we're here."
Though housed in an auto dealership, Allstate will offer insurance for all areas of life — renters, home and auto all included.
"We want to be their one-stop shop for all of their auto needs," he added. "We're available to the Sandy and Gresham community for anyone. Our goal is to become a trusted advisor to our clients when it comes to insuring your risks."
