House District 52 county commissioners host meeting to appoint new representative
With long-time House District 52 representative Mark Johnson's resignation last week, a replacement must be appointed within 30 days.
Johnson is moving on to take the position of executive director of OBI, a lobbying group consisting of Oregon Business Association and Associated Oregon Industries groups that focuses on job creation and stimulating Oregon's economy.
At 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, the commissioners of Clackamas, Multnomah and Hood River Counties will meet at the Sandy High School Lecture Hall, 37400 Bell St., to interview candidates for the position.
With any mid-term appointment, the candidates for the position must be selected by the party of the former representative. The state Republican Party will select finalists to attend the public meeting on Nov. 29.
For those unable to attend, footage of the meeting is made available on Clackamas County's YouTube Channel and broadcast on the Clackamas County Government Channel.
