Sheriff's Office seeks suspect in Mountain Air Motel robbery
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to identify a man who allegedly robbed the Mountain Air Motel at 65500 E. Highway 26, in Welches, on March 27.
At around 3:28 a.m. last Tuesday, a deputy responded to a reported armed robbery at the motel. The manager of the motel said she opened the door to someone she assumed was a customer and was greeted with a handgun. The suspect demanded money and the manager complied, handing over a Clackamas County Bank bag with cash and receipts, and the suspect fled.
The manager said from the sound of the suspect's getaway car, it may be missing a muffler.
After collaborating with the manager, the Sheriff's Office Forensic Imaging Unit released a sketch of the suspect.
The Sheriff's Office described the suspect as a thin, "light-skinned Hispanic" male with a "bony nose (and) dark-colored eyes." He appeared to be in his late 20s, and he was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
