ODOT to reopen stretch between Southeast Haley, Stone roads in Boring on Sept. 28

Hopefully you're knowledgeable of Boring's back roads. As of today, July 5, Southeast 282nd Avenue between Southeast Haley Road and Southeast Stone Road will be closed for the next three months.

The temporary closure is to allow Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to raise, repair and resurface the bridge over Highway 26. The raising of the bridge is meant to allow better clearance for over-height vehicles, which otherwise might frequent arterials such as Orient Drive and Kelso Road, instead of remaining on the highway.

The project will also include creating new stormwater ponds along the highway, which will require intermittent closure of the shoulders of the highway under the bridge. The road is set to reopen after 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28. Detour routes are posted.
