Highway 26 crash claims man's life
One man died after a motorcycle and 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup collided Saturday afternoon on Highway 26.
Rhododendron man Nicholas C. Irwin, 24, was traveling west at about 3:40 p.m. Oct. 20 on Highway 26 when Estacada man Donald J. Edwards, 77, turned left onto Southeast Canyon Valley Road into the path of Irwin's 2017 Honda motorcycle.
Canyon Valley is the road that leads to the Waste Management Transfer Station.
Irwin collided with the passenger side of the pickup and received fatal injuries. Lifesaving measures were taken by medical personnel after they arrived, but Irwin died at the scene. Edwards is said to have sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Oregon State Police, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Sandy Fire Department, the Oregon Department of Transportation and All Ways Towing responded to the wreck.
