Law enforcement officers seek public assistance to identify homicide victim

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an unidentified woman, and seeking public assistance.

The woman's body was found in a ditch off Southeast Camp Namanu Road near the Sandy River around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. The woman is described as in her mid-20s to early 30s, approximately 5-foot-4, 155 pounds, and possibly Hispanic. She was found dressed in a "black shirt with cut-out shoulders, salmon-colored jeans, silver scrappy sandals and large black fabric hair tie."

The sheriff's office Forensic Imaging Unit is working on a sketch of the victim from photos of the body.

The Clackamas County district attorney's office and the medical examiner's office accompanied sheriff's detectives and crime scene investigators who are investigating the woman's death. An autopsy determined that the woman died of homicidal violence.

"Safety is our No. 1 priority for those at camp, including renters, campers and our staff," Camp Namanu staff members said in a statement. "We have been and will continue to work with the authorities as they investigate this incident. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the woman and her family."

Anyone with information about the woman's identity or her death are encouraged to contact the sheriff's office tip line, 503-723-4949, or using the online email form at, referencing CCSO Case No. 18-29292.
