William L. Snyder, 78, identified as victim of fatal crash near Southeast Orient Drive

Though the cause of the fatal crash remains a mystery, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of a Jan. 25 wreck in Boring as William L. Snyder, 78.

Around 7:30 a.m. Friday, Sheriff's deputies, accompanied by personnel from Sandy Fire District and members of the Clackamas County Water Rescue Consortium responded to reports of an upturned silver Jeep Cherokee in the North Fork Deep Creek near Southeast Revenue Road and Southeast Orient Drive in Boring.

Snyder was declared dead at the scene and was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Authorities speculate Snyder was northbound on Southeast Orient Drive and lost control in the turn, veering into the opposite lane and down the embankment into the creek.

Next of kin have been notified.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating and seeking additional information about the crash.
