Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies, volunteers have found 80-year-old Akemi Takahashi

UPDATE: Akemi Takahashi has been located and will likely be transported to an area hospital for medical assessment.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue crews found Takahashi about 530 feet from where her vehicle was located at 8:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20. She was signaling with her whistle when found. Takahashi is on her way out of the campground area with rescuers and will receive medical attention for any injuries she may have received after being out in the elements overnight.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Search and Rescue crews are looking for Tigard woman Akemi Takahashi, 80, who is said to have gone missing near Trillium Lake on Mount Hood around 6:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. Takahashi was picking mushrooms in the area with friend Taka Masuda. Masuda reported he lost contact with Takahashi around 4:40 p.m.

Takahashi is reportedly an experienced mushroom picker and normally carries a whistle, but left her cellphone in the car. She was last seen wearing an orange jacket.

Sheriff's officers have established a command post at Trillium Lake Campground, where volunteer searchers from Pacific Northwest (PNW) Search and Rescue along with K-9 search teams from Mountain Wave Search and Rescue responded last night. Teams have so far been unable to locate Takahashi.


 - Crews searching for Tigard woman Akemi Takahashi, 80, are stationed at Trillium Lake Campground.The Washington County Sheriff's Explorer Post and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Search and Rescue will also aid in search efforts.
