Sandy student arrested after online school shooting threat
A 16-year-old Sandy High student will be released from police custody after posting a threat about a school shooting on Tik Tok, a social media app on Thursday, Sept. 19.
The threat was first reported to federal law enforcement, then relayed to Ohio State Police. Ohio officers found the post was made by someone at an IP address within the Clackamas Education Service District. From there, Clackamas County law enforcement were able to trace the information to the 16-year-old Sandy student.
Officers found no evidence supporting the threat as credible. The student allegedly did not have access to any weapons.
The student was arrested for charges of first-degree disorderly conduct and taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center.
The student's name has not been released.
