Gresham police have indentifed Anthony Ortiz of Portland as the man who died in Monday's crash.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started for the family of Anthony Ortiz, 61, of Portland, who died in a crash Monday, Oct. 28, on Highway 26 near Hillyard Road east of Gresham.

Around 6:30 a.m., according to police reports, Ortiz was turning left onto Hillyard Road from eastbound Highway 26 when a collision occurred with an oncoming westbound vehicle.

Ortiz died at the scene and the other driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Gresham Police, which responded to the crash, identified the other driver as 20-year-old Tyrone Keever of Estacada. Police said he is cooperating with the investigation.

According to the campaign on GoFundMe, Ortiz leaves behind a wife, four children and four grandchildren.

"Tony Ortiz would do anything for his family," Matthew Ortiz wrote. "He was the hardest working person I've ever meet. We are trying to raise money to pay for funeral expenses as well as money to help the family during this tragic time of loss. Please honor my father by helping us raise money to help this beautiful family."
