Mt. Hood Athletic Club gets a lift
From weights to water aerobics, Mt. Hood Athletic Club, 37095 Highway 26, Sandy, offers programs for people of all fitness levels. Now they offer even more with an expanded weight room and new Base Camp performance training studio.
"Our focus is making sure our members are getting their desired results in a safe environment effectively," said trainer Alesia Soll. "We knew we wanted to offer our members a program that would get them their results. For the people who actually want to make changes we've made this investment to give them everything we possibly can to make sure they're successful."
The staff at MHAC has been dreaming up their Base Camp addition for a few years. The multi-functional space offers equipment and designated spaces for four different levels of workouts. There also is a new Polar Club Solutions HR System, which can monitor your fitness intensity, track progress and celebrate fitness goals. A Fit3D Body Scanner can assess body measurements and track progress.
Some of the new programs available through Base Camp are yoga on stand-up paddle boards and silks yoga (anti-gravity yoga). The trainers will also fitness test those interested in Base Camp programs to get an idea of their beginning capabilities and evaluate their goals.
"We are reaching out to multiple different demographics," Soll said. "We are going to get the people who are fitness-based but also those interested in mind, body and spirit wellness."
