Expect cold, wet weather pattern throughout the weekend with temperatures dropping further by Monday

Though snow has seemingly skipped Sandy so far this winter, an increasingly wet and cold weather pattern is moving in and will likely include snow by Monday, Jan. 13.

Rain is expected to persist through the weekend, accompanied by gusts of up to 25 mph on Saturday, Jan. 11, according to National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts. Low temperatures are to remain in the high 30s with highs in the low 40s through the weekend.

Monday is expected to bring snow before 1 p.m., followed by a mixture of snow and rain with a high of 38 degrees. Snow accumulation Monday is forecasted at 1 inch, kicking off a week of possible snow showers.
