MORE STORIES

Submissions are welcome until Jan. 31 from artists between the ages of 12 and 18.

Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) have invited interested teens to electronically submit original artwork for the sixth annual Teen Summer Reading Artwork contest.

This year's theme is "Reading Colors Your World."COURTESY PHOTO: LINCC - The winner of last year's contest, themed 'Imagine Your Story,' was 12-year-old Leala Tran of Happy Valley.

Artists must be between the ages of 12 and 18, or in sixth to 12th grades, at the time of submission, and artwork must represent the theme. Entries should be in color with no text, and submissions are welcome until Jan. 31.

"Every year we see amazing art come from students all over our county," said Brad Clark, children and teens librarian at the Wilsonville Public Library. "We are excited once again to not only support the creativity and passions of teens in our area, but also give them a platform to inspire reading and community engagement in others."

Like last year, the winning design will be used by LINCC throughout the county for all summer reading promotional materials, such as posters, forms, flyers and social media.

A $100 cash gift card will be awarded for first place, and honorable mentions may also be recognized.
