All seven advisory board positions are open with deadline of 5 p.m. Friday, May 14

The Sandy Arts Commission recently became an advisory board and is seeking members. As of April 22, the city has begun accepting applications for Public Art Advisory Board members.

"The purpose of the Public Art Advisory Board is to provide policy recommendations to the (Sandy) City Council on cultural and artistic matters, develop long-term strategies and plans to cultivate art in Sandy, and encourage donations, grants and other support to expand access to the arts in the community," according to the website.

All seven positions on the board are open. In accordance with new rules set by council, no more than two board members may reside outside of the city limits, and all board members must live within the boundaries of the Oregon Trail School District.

Three of the open positions' terms expire Dec. 31, 2023, and the other four open positions' terms expire Dec. 31, 2024.

The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. Friday, May 14. Council members will interview applicants and choose who will serve on the board.

Those interested in applying can do so online.
