Forest Service seeks applicants for seasonal positions
If you've ever considered a career with the US Forest Service, this might be your time to throw your hat in the ring.
From Friday, Nov. 5 through Friday, Nov. 12, the service will accept applications for more than 1,000 different seasonal positions within in the agency. Applicants have opportunities to work in fields, including fire, recreation, natural resources, timber, engineering, visitor services, and archaeology throughout next spring and summer.
Applications can be submitted on usajobs.gov between Nov. 5-12. More information about seasonal employment, available positions and application instructions can be found on the Forest Service jobs webpage.
The Forest Service encourages applicants to create a profile on usajobs.gov in advance to save time when the application period opens.
"We're looking for talented, diverse applicants to help us manage over 24 million acres of public land in the Pacific Northwest," said Glenn Casamassa, Pacific Northwest Regional Forester. "If you're interested in stewarding our national forests and serving local communities, I encourage you to apply."
The Forest Service will share information and answer questions about the application process in a Facebook Live session on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Visit the Facebook event page to register for that event.
