Sandy Grade School gets Operation Helping Heroes donation
Since the pandemic began, COUNTRY Financial has been donating funds to support local teachers, first responders and active-duty service members and veterans.
Sandy Grade School is the latest recipient of $750 from what the financial company calls Operation Helping Heroes.
On April 20, COUNTRY Financial representative Jamie Newbold presented a $750 donation to the school to purchase walkie-talkies for the teachers.
"I know a few of the teachers at Sandy Grade School and see how dedicated they are to their students and their work," Newbold said. "Teachers are truly everyday heroes, and if this recognition and donation can make their lives easier, I'm so glad."
Since 2020, COUNTRY Financial has donated more than $4 million to organizations and programs that support local heroes, supporting the company's vision to "enrich lives in the communities we serve."
According to a statement from the company, "the Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support nonprofit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Later, the program expanded to include first responders and teachers."
