Boring Market to offer crafts for sale, cars, concerts and more
Farmers market season has begun and this year Boring residents will have their own market to peruse again, now at Mt. Hood Center.
Though the Mt. Hood Center is best known for its past and present use as an equestrian center, the site is also now used for numerous other kinds of events and special occasion rentals.
Last year, the center hosted numerous "cars and coffee" events, and there was "a really positive turnout," Mt. Hood Center public relations manager Sarah Slusarick said.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday, starting July 3, through August, the Mt. Hood Center on Lariat Lane will host an entire day for the community, including cars, coffee, craft vendors and concerts. For continuous entertainment, the center is planning to offer an evening of live music every week, which will kick off at 5 p.m.
The Boring Market, as it is being called, will offer 30 vendors every week, selling handmade and home-grown items.
"I'm hoping we can bring in a diverse, eclectic crowd," said Slusarick.
"We're hoping for 30 vendors per market, but we're taking anyone who fits the criteria," Slusarick said. "This is our biggest community event since the renovations, so seeing everybody come together from Sandy, Gresham, Boring, (to) see the work we've done, and all the potential (for the center), will be great. We're excited to be getting people out there for something wholesome and family friendly."
