90-degree and higher days predicted into the weekend in Sandy, nearby communities

With our 83-degree temperatures today, June 24, rising into the high 90s this weekend, the city of Sandy wants to remind people in need of a cool place to retreat to that the Sandy Public Library, 38980 Proctor Blvd., and the Hoodland Library, 24525 E. Welches Road, Welches, are open most days.

The library offers plenty of seating, free wi-fi and access to restrooms and a water fountain.

For Sandy, the forecast predicts a 90-degree high Saturday, June 25, cooling down to 68 degrees at night, followed by a 98-degree high and 65-degree low day on Sunday, June 26. Monday, June 27, the high is projected to remain around 91 degrees, but cool down to 57 degrees before the highs return to being in the low to mid 70s for the rest of the week.

Hours for the Sandy Library are as follows:

• Monday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 7 pm

• Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Thursday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Saturday: Noon to 5 p.m.

• Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m.

Hours for the Hoodland Library are as follows:

• Monday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Tuesday: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Wednesday: Noon to 6 p.m.

• Thursday: Noon to 6 p.m.

• Friday: Noon to 6 p.m.

• Saturday: Noon to 5 p.m.

• Sunday: CLOSED
