Letter writer Dan Nelson wonders why Democratic lawmakers wouldn't let cap-and-trade go to a vote of the people.

The electorate should be able to vote on any cap-and-trade proposal that the Legislature puts forward.

This major issue deserves to be put in the public view. Discussions for and against brings out the facts of what this bill would cost and how those collected funds would be used. Sen. Thomsen and his Republican colleagues left the legislative session to try and bring this issue to a public vote. The majority did not want that to happen. I wonder Why?
