The Sandy Post is providing it's recommendations on local school boards races appearing on the May 18 ballot.

It's a slam dunk for voters in the Oregon Trail School District.

Three school board positions are on the ballot, and candidates are unopposed in each race.

Incumbents Randy Carmony (Zone7), Marjan Salveter (Zone 1) and Robert Lee (Zone 5) are seeking re-election. All three of these board members have demonstrated a sharp understanding of their roles in district leadership. There are no red flags with any of these candidates, and voters should welcome each back for another term.

A fourth position will be vacated by long-time board member Kurt McKnight (Zone 3), who decided against seeking re-election. No one filed in this election to replace McKnight, which means the board will appoint a new member to the vacancy.
