Diversity Career and Job Fair hailed a success

The first-ever Diversity Career and Job Fair at Mt. Hood Community College attracted more than 1,300 job seekers, 20 community resources, several chambers of commerce and 60 employers from a broad range of industries.

“Job seekers were pleased with this year’s turnout of employers from diverse industries and the new focus of the fair, highlighting their diverse skills and backgrounds,” said Bhaktirose Dawdy, one of the event organizers.

MHCC’s annual spring career fair — renamed and refocused this year as the Diversity Career and Job Fair — is the largest such event in east Multnomah County.

It provides opportunities for career exploration, networking with local businesses and connecting with community resources.
