Holiday Shop and Sip sale proceeds help to fund annual family adoption program

FILE PHOTO - Buddha Kat Winery. There are several ways to give back while finding gifts — some of them locally sourced — to go under the tree this Christmas.

From noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and Sunday, Dec. 16, Buddha Kat Winery, 17020 Ruben Lane, will host a Holiday Shop and Sip bazaar to benefit the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce Community Cares program, which adopts, gifts and feeds a family every winter.

More than 10 vendors will be present to offer gift possibilities as well as tastings of Buddha Kat wines and Boring Brewing beers. Food will be available for purchase.

"We decided to host this event because everybody deserves a Christmas," said Buddha Kat Winery representative Barbara Dilley. "It's a time of giving, and I think everybody should come and contribute."

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, the winery will host a paint night for $35 per person with proceeds going to the Community Cares cause.

Reservations can be made online through the event Facebook page at www.facebook.com/events/1056563587848786.

Even those who don't purchase gifts from the bazaar can help out by utilizing the gift wrapping table. For a donation, you can have two gifts no larger than 30 inches by 30 inches wrapped. There is no limit for items purchased at the bazaar.

Vendors will sell everything from homemade chocolates and jams to planters with succulents, and jewelry.

"We thought that this event would be fun and something different (in terms of a fundraiser)," Dilley noted.

Vendor applications will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 10.
