Sandy Speech and Debate Team to host evening of entertainment
Members Sandy High School's award-winning speech and debate team invites the community to come see what they can do.
At 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, in the high school auditorium, 37400 Bell Street, team members will perform messages that have personal significance in their lives and "that have proven important to the speakers and their lives."
The two-hour event will feature award-winning performances ranging from the dramatic to humorous to informational.
"The showcase is a chance for our team to show the community that what we do is not only important but incredibly impressive," said team captain Molly Izer.
Izer has taken first place in the category of Programmed Oral Interpretation in six tournaments already this season, and Izer, Brekklan Richardson and Cassidy Browning have already qualified to compete in the state competition.
"We have an incredibly talented team this year, and both coach and I are very eager to showcase that," Izer added.
Admission to the Feb. 29 event is free.
