With a focus on delicious farm-to-table meals and community, the vision of Bethany's Table stems from Chef-owner Janet O'Connor's rich, Oregon childhood and her desire to create a culinary hub for the community and other food artisans.

Janet grew up on a 35-acre wooded property where her family revered home cooked meals over convenience - just outside was a bounty of seasonal foods awaiting them in the woods like berries, mushrooms (her father knew the Latin names of all the local varieties), fish, game, and fowl. Raised on scratch-made food left a deep impression on Janet who continued her culinary education by living in Switzerland, before attending Le Cordon Blue in Portland. After working at numerous top restaurants like Atwaters and The Heathman, Janet envisioned a space of her own to bring community together and celebrate the bounty of the Northwest.

Together with David Bowles , they opened Bethany's table, a freestyle neighborhood bistro that showcases seasonal ingredients, uses only high-quality meat and seafood, and redefines the dining experience in Bethany - it's a bistro where each customer is recognized, appreciated, and valued for who they are. When not in the kitchen, Chef Janet can be found talking to customers in the dining room or checking inventory at the Marketplace - a space for take home foods made by Chef Janet and other local food artisans. In creating Bethany's Table, Chef Janet has enriched the Bethany food landscape in multiple ways by giving diners options for delicious meals to dine at Bethany's Table, or eat at home.
