If you did you likely saw host Jay Leno’s long running “Police Blotter” segment, and read a short snippet from a recent entry in The Times.

"Blotter" — a segment on the long running NBC late night show that includes humorous entries from newspaper police logs across the country — included a segment from The Times’ Aug. 29 issue.

“People call the cops for anything,” Leno said.

The Times' entry, which was reported to police on Sunday, Aug. 25, read: “A dead opossum was seen in the 10800 block of Black Diamond Way. It was not clear if the animal was actually deceased or ‘playing possum.’

The entry drew big laughs and even applause from the audience.

The piece was sent in by a Times reader.
