A truck at Specialized Pavement Marking caught fire on Tuesday afternoon. It took more than 30 firefighters to put out the blaze. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue firefighters were able to subdue a large truck fire that erupted Tuesday afternoon at an industrial park in Tualatin.

The truck caught fire at Specialized Pavement Marking Inc., 11095 S.W. Industrial Way, at about 3:39 p.m.

Specialized Pavement Marking is a private company that stripes highway markings across the Northwest.

Witnesses called 911, reporting flames and heavy black smoke coming from the truck.

The driver of the truck was able to escape the vehicle before firefighters arrived.

The truck was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived on scene.

The truck’s 150-gallon diesel fuel tank and propane tanks onboard prompted TVF&R leaders to call in additional firefighters to battle the first-alarm fire.

Firefighters used an aerial ladder to assist firefighters on the ground by pounding the truck with water to keep the propane tanks cooled.

It took 32 firefighters about 45 minutes to extinguish the flames.

No structures were harmed, and no one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
