Tualatin Riverkeepers host special trip on the river for disabled
The Tualatin Riverkeepers host plenty of paddle trips on the sedate Tualatin River during the warm months of the year.
This Saturday's event, though, has a special focus: people with disabilities, and especially disabled veterans.
Anyone who has disabilities but can sit in a kayak or canoe with minimal support, according to the nonprofit group, can participate in Saturday's paddle trip for $20 per person. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Those needing extra assistance should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to ensure a prompt departure, Riverkeepers noted on a Facebook event page.
