The Tualatin Riverkeepers host plenty of paddle trips on the sedate Tualatin River during the warm months of the year.

This Saturday's event, though, has a special focus: people with disabilities, and especially disabled veterans.

Anyone who has disabilities but can sit in a kayak or canoe “with minimal support,” according to the nonprofit group, can participate in Saturday's paddle trip for $20 per person. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Those needing extra assistance should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to ensure a prompt departure,” Riverkeepers noted on a Facebook event page.

Prospective paddlers can contact Margot Farvia-Neamtzu to register. She can be reached at 503-218-2580 and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
