Sharon Fox currently holds 54 percent of the vote; opponent Paul Grun had 25 percent.

Sharon FoxSharon Fox is the apparent winner of the contested race for the Tigard-Tualatin School District's Position 1 board seat.

As of Wednesday morning, Fox held 54.4 percent of the vote, while opponent Paul Grun had 27 percent.

Robin Gensler, who recently dropped out of the race and threw her support behind Grun, received 18.1 percent of the vote.

On Wednesday morning, Fox said she was feeling, "enthusiastic, humbled and grateful" about the results.

She said she believed voters connected to her message because, "I've been serving and involved already. I'm looking out for the best of all students in our district, and I have a track record of service and involvement."

The other two races for the school district board were both uncontested. Incumbent Maureen Wolf and newcomer Karen Emerson will serve on the board for Positions 5 and 3, respectively.

Results in Tuesday's election are unofficial until certified by the Oregon secretary of state.
