As of Tuesday, he led with 53 percent of the vote in the only contested race for the community college.

Valdez Bravo Valdez Bravo is the apparent winner of the contested Portland Community College Zone 5 board race. As of Wednesday morning, Bravo held with 49.8 percent of the vote, followed by opponents David Squire with 34 percent and Moses Ross with 14.5 percent.

"I'm feeling really excited about the early returns we're seeing," said Bravo on Tuesday. "I'm here at the election party with all the volunteers who made it all possible, and there's a lot of cheering. Hopefully the numbers stay in our favor, and I get to work serving PCC."

The other three races for the PCC board were all uncontested. Incumbents Denise Frisbee, Mohamed Alyajouri and Jim Harper will all retain their seats on the board.
