Jolley, 40, was taken into custody Thursday, Feb. 1, by Tigard Police detectives at his home without incident. Jolley was the center of an in-depth investigation after a former Tigard High School student disclosed the alleged sex abuse to a Tigard Police Department school resource officer.

The investigation began in summer 2017 and recently intensified after an additional victim contacted Tigard Police.

Jolley is alleged to have had inappropriate sexual contact with a high school student beginning in July 2005 and continuing throughout the year. The second victim allegedly was abused in 2016. The abuse occurred when both victims were students attending Tigard High School.

A Washington County grand jury indicted Jolley on Feb. 1 of five counts of second-degree sex abuse and one count of third-degree sex abuse. Jolley is being held in the Washington County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.

A district spokeswoman confirmed that Jolley was employed at Tigard High between the 2005-06 and 2015-16 school years. He worked at no other schools in the district. Jolley taught mainly language arts and reading. He was an instructional coordinator for two years (2012-13 and 2013-14).

He served in a variety of assistant coaching capacities for both softball and football; most recently as an assistant varsity football coach and junior varsity softball coach. He also coached freshman baseball in 2007-08.

He also worked as a ninth-grade language arts teacher at Southridge High School in Beaverton from 2001-2004.

Jolley joined the Sherwood School District in 2016 as the associate principal at Sherwood Middle School. He left the position in June of 2017.

Ty Hanlon, a spokesman for the Sherwood Police Department, said he is not aware of any complaints or incidents reported to police related to Jolley during his time in Sherwood.

Tigard investigators urge anyone with information, or who may be aware of other possible victimization, to contact the department at 503-718-2677 or via email at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
