The 2018 Tigard Festival of Balloons kicks off Friday morning with a sky full of chromatic joy.

The three-day event began today with tethered rides around 7 a.m. The carnival opens at 10 a.m., with the kids' action zone at noon. The six-on-six soccer tourney kicks off at 1 p.m., with craft vendors and exhibitor booths staffed from 3 to 11 p.m. Live music begins at 5 p.m. So, too, the Rogue Ales Beer Garden. At dusk, weather permitting, is the annual Night Glow, in which the tethered balloons are inflated for the viewing pleasure of the crowd.
