The health administrator and City Council member was edging out three other candidates in initial returns.

Snider, a health care administrator and member of the Tigard City Council, had 43.55 percent of the vote as of 10 p.m. Tuesday, followed by City Councilor Marc Woodard with 33.29 percent.

"I'm feeling comfortable," said Snider after being reached at a celebration at the Beach House Deli in downtown Tigard. "The results so far look good."

Snider said he wasn't significantly surprised by the margin, noting that the results reflect similar estimates his campaign team made based on modeling.

Meanwhile, the two other Linda Monahan and Marland Henderson, followed with 18.18 percent and with 4.69 percent, respectively.
