Two people died Monday in a truck collision on Newberg-Dundee Bypass at Milepost 57 on the Newberg-Dundee bypass.
Investigators say "icy roadways" are believed to be a factor in the crash.
The first call came in at 5:22 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7.
A passenger vehicle also was involved. The identities of the dead have not yet been released, but police say the drivers of both commercial trucks died at the scene.
First-arriving firefighters observed two semi-trucks crashed and in flames. At one point, flames were 50 feet high. Since there were no fire hydrants nearby, firefighters from Dundee Fire District, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Dayton Fire District and St. Paul Fire Department shuttled water to the scene. Fire crews fought to control the blaze for more than an hour.
Oregon State Police will be investigating the cause of the crash.
