COURTESY TIGARD HIGH SCHOOL - A Tigard High School student has taken home an honorable mention for placing in a personal finance competition.A Tigard High School student recently received honorable mention and a $500 education scholarship in the Second Annual PAYBACK Challenge, an competition that includes playing a financial game and writing a 250-word essay.

Ellie Dodson received the award, which is sponsored by Next Gen Personal Finance, a non-profit committed to ensuring that students leave high school with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex financial world.

Dodson is a student in Sue Suttich's personal finance class at Tigard High.

Previously, PAYBACK received a Webby Award for best Social Impact game and is a free game available at timeforpayback.com.
