Council president named for a spot on the NLC's Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee.

John GoodhouseTigard City Council President John Goodhouse was recently appointed to the National League of Cities' 2019 Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee. The committee has the lead responsibility for developing the organization's federal policy positions on issues involving transportation, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports.

"I am proud to have Council President Goodhouse join NLC's Transportation and Infrastructure Services committee on behalf of Tigard's residents," said NLC President Karen Freeman-Wilson, mayor of Gary, Ind. "Together with a team of local leaders from around the country, we will work to solve the most pressing challenges facing our communities."

As a committee member, he will play a key role in shaping NLC's policy positions and advocate on behalf of America's cities and towns before Congress, with the administration and at home.

"I'm honored to have been appointed to this committee and relish the opportunity it gives me to represent Oregon in this important subject," said Goodhouse.
