Drive-in movie to underscore plight of homeless set for Tualatin Elementary

COURTESY FAMILY PROMISE OF TUALATIN VALLEY - The Drive-in, Sleep Out event is set for Saturday at 5 p.m. and lasts until 1 a.m. Sunday at Tualatin Elementary School, 20405 S.W. 95th Ave. Proceeds will benefit local homeless children and their families. Admission includes a parking spot, barbecue dinner, live music How well would you sleep in your car at night?

Students are being asked to team up with their friends or family (or have someone sponsor you) for Drive-in, Sleep Out, an overnight stay in your car to get a small glimpse into what it's like to use your car for shelter.

Sponsored by Family Promise of Tualatin Valley, the event is set for Saturday at 5 p.m. and lasts until 1 a.m. Sunday at Tualatin Elementary School, 20405 S.W. 95th Ave.

Proceeds will benefit local homeless children and their families.

Admission includes a parking spot, barbecue dinner, live music by SoundCheck Classic Rock, an indoor kid-friendly movie, raffles and more.

A light breakfast is planned for the morning.
