CCSO responded to Southwest Stafford and Newland roads around 3:35 p.m. on Friday, July 12, according to a news release, after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Police say a pick-up truck and a sedan were involved in the crash, but didn't specify the details. One person was confirmed dead by first responders at the scene.

Authorities say one of the two vehicles involved in the crash struck a utility pole, disconnecting power lines in the area. Four others were injured, including one person with life-threatening injuries. They were taken to local hospitals.

Investigators and forensic technicians working with the Clackamas County Criminal Reconstructionist Team closed roads for hours as they searched for clues. Police say drunk or drugged driving is not believed to be a factor in this crash.

Officials with the City of Wilsonville, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office, Oregon City Police, Clackamas County Road Department and Portland Gas & Electric assisted in the investigation.

"None of the names of the involved parties will be released at this time as this is still an active investigation," police said.
