Washington County Sheriff's Department officials say the 24-year-old man was five times over the legal limit

COURTESY OF WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT - Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue firefighters were able to get the driver, 24-year-old Ryan Hamilton, out of the vehicle, which had flipped upside down into shallow water.  A driver accused of having a blood alcohol content five times the legal limit crashed his new truck into Ash Creek Monday afternoon just outside of Tigard.

The crash happened near the intersection of Hall Boulevard and Locust Street in the Metzger area.

According to KOIN 6 News, a Pamplin Media Group news partner, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue firefighters were able to get the driver, 24-year-old Ryan Hamilton, out of the vehicle, which had flipped upside down into shallow water.

He was taken to a local hospital and later arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The accident happened an hour after he purchased the vehicle.
